OH SNAP! COLIN POWELL ENDORSES BARACK OBAMA! IN YOUR FACE MCCAIN. IT BURNS DOESN'T IT!?

Since resigning as the Secretary of State under the Bush administration and retiring from military and political life Colin Powell has kept a pretty low pro staying out of the political arena and the public eye for several years now. There is no doubt that he continues to classify himself as a member of the Republican party as he has stated publicly and shown in action by contributing money and advice to the McCain campaign. After all he and "the Maverick" are old friends with three decades and many political adventures together to solidify a long and solid relationship. He has already secured his place in history as an American war hero and a legendary statesman who's service and respect transcend party lines. But today in a rumored yet still surprise move he endorsed the candidacy of Barack Obama for President of the United States of America. HOT DAM!!! Conservative pundits are downplaying the endorsement saying things like "endorsements are over rated anyway" and "I don't think this endorsement will have much effect" but COME ON who are you all kidding? This endorsement is HUGE! You don't have Democratic powerhouses endorsing John McCain in order to solidify his self appointed status as a unifier. But you do have conservative powerhouses crossing the isle in order to support Obama. Who's the unifier now? With another historical endorsement for Obama this week, that of the ultra conservative Chicago Tribune, no one can deny that it is Obama's candidacy that is parting oceans and moving mountains. The Chicago Tribune for Christ sakes! A publication who's founding fathers were some of the original architects of the GOP and have NEVER in it's nearly 200 year history EVER endorsed a Democrat for President. These are exiting times and the world is anxiously waiting for Barack Obama to become President of the United States. Colin Powell's endorsement obliterates any argument that Obama doesn't surround himself with a good crew. Because his crew is not just good, it's great (and leaps across party lines). Back to General Powell for a second. I believe that he has felt hurt and betrayed by his party for manipulating him into selling the Iraq war to the American people with false information and faulty intelligence as he famously did publicly at the beginning of this whole fiasco. Since his retirement he has been one of the most consistent critics of the war. Out of the public eye over the last few years I imagine he spends his time at yoga studios and meditation centers trying to spiritually cleanse himself from the poison that his party fed him. I believe that his endorsement today has taken him one step closer to spiritual purity and I commend him for his bravery, his wisdom and his action.
